SACRIFICE UNMET

A Quest for Sanctuary

A poignant minidoc series illuminating the arduous journeys of immigrants who served abroad, now seeking a safe haven in an increasingly hostile America.

WHAT IS SACRIFICE UNMET?

Sacrifice Unmet: A Quest for Sanctuary is a poignant minidoc series that intimately chronicles the arduous journeys of immigrants who, having served alongside or on behalf of the United States abroad, now find themselves navigating the complexities of seeking asylum. Through the personal stories of individuals struggling today, and the interwoven experiences of immigrants from Afghanistan, the Middle East, and beyond, this series illuminates the profound human cost of navigating systems that often fall short of their ideals. We aim to bear witness to their resilience, their unwavering hope for safety, and their fight to build new lives after offering their service.

WHY SUPPORT THIS SERIES?

In a time of global displacement and intricate immigration challenges, Sacrifice Unmet: A Quest for Sanctuary unveils the often-untold stories of those who have a unique connection to the United States. This series will:

  • Amplify Unheard Voices: Provide a platform for immigrants with a history of service to share their personal struggles and aspirations for safety.
  • Highlight Unacknowledged Sacrifice: Reveal the often-overlooked challenges faced by those who have contributed in various capacities and now seek refuge.
  • Foster Deeper Understanding: Bridge divides by humanizing the complex realities of the asylum process for this specific group.
  • Explore Diverse Journeys: Showcase the varied experiences of individuals from different regions and the unique obstacles they encounter.
  • Inspire Empathy and Action: Encourage viewers to connect with these human stories and consider ways to support those seeking sanctuary.
