Cookie Policy
Last updated: October 26, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how Narratives Inc. (“Narratives,” “we,” “us” or “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on www.narratives.com (the “Site”), and how you can control them. It should be read with our Privacy Policy.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies include local storage, pixels and scripts that read information from your browser. We call all of these “cookies” in this policy. Some are set by us (first-party cookies) and some by the services we use (third-party cookies). Session cookies disappear when you close your browser, and persistent cookies stay until they expire or you delete them.
2. How we ask for your choice
Our consent tool asks which kinds of cookies you allow. Strictly necessary cookies are always on. Marketing cookies stay off unless you allow them. Where the law requires your consent first, such as in the European Union, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, preference and analytics cookies also stay off until you allow them, and the tools that use them do not load until you do. Elsewhere, including the United States, preference and analytics cookies are on by default and you can turn them off. You can change your choice at any time through Cookie Preferences, a link that is also in the footer of every page. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a choice to turn off marketing cookies.
3. The cookies we use
Strictly necessary
These make the Site work and keep it secure, and they cannot be turned off.
- Consent tool (ComplyMo). Stores your cookie choice and a random identifier in your browser so we remember your choice and can show that it was given. It also saves accessibility settings you choose.
- Hosting (Webflow). Delivers pages and protects the Site against abuse.
- Donations (Zeffy). When you open the donation form, Zeffy and its payment processors use cookies needed to process your gift securely and prevent fraud.
Preferences
These remember choices that improve your experience, such as settings in features we may add.
Analytics
These help us understand how many people visit, which stories and films they watch and read, and how they found us, so we can improve the Site and our work.
- Google Analytics. Sets cookies such as _ga and _ga_ followed by an identifier to count visits and measure how the Site is used. Learn more in How Google uses information from sites that use its services, or install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
- Lucky Orange. Records how visitors move through pages, such as clicks, scrolling and mouse movement, and creates heatmaps so we can find and fix confusing pages. Form fields are not used to identify you. Learn more in the Lucky Orange privacy policy.
Marketing
These are used to show and measure advertising. They are off unless you allow them.
- Google AdSense. When we run ads, Google and its partners may set cookies such as __gads, __gpi and IDE to show ads, limit how often you see them, measure their performance and prevent fraud. Learn more in How Google uses cookies in advertising.
Embedded content
Our films and video stories are hosted on YouTube. When a video appears on a page, YouTube may set cookies when it loads or when you play it, under Google’s Privacy Policy. Posts embedded from other services work the same way under their own policies.
Files we load from other services
The Site loads fonts, images and code libraries from content delivery networks such as jsDelivr and unpkg. These providers receive your IP address so they can deliver the files to your browser, but we do not use them to set cookies.
4. Other ways to control cookies
- Browser settings. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies. If you block strictly necessary cookies, parts of the Site may not work. See allaboutcookies.org for instructions.
- Advertising choices. You can manage interest-based advertising through Google’s ad settings, the Network Advertising Initiative, the Digital Advertising Alliance and, in Europe, Your Online Choices. If you opt out, you may still see ads, but they will not be based on your interests.
- Mobile devices. Your device settings may let you limit ad tracking or reset your advertising identifier.
5. Changes to this policy
We update this policy when the tools we use change. We will post the new version here with a new “Last updated” date.
